Shropshire School Business Managers Association

In 2003 there was only one School Business Manager in Shropshire!

Occasionally the school bursars from Shrewsbury would meet to discuss the latest Council policy changes etc.  However these meetings proved to be so popular and informative, that other secondary schools in Shropshire began to atten

We decided to become more formal and elected a Chair, Secretary and Treasurer and as our school bursars evolved to school business managers, we became the Shropshire School Business Managers Association.

We now have over 20 School Business Managers from the Shropshire secondary schools, Academies and clusters, meeting every half term.   

The group continue to network on a daily basis, sharing information, best practice and sometimes just lending a sympathetic ear.  The local authority are beginning to recognise the importance of the work we do.  We now have representatives on a small number of committees and working parties and will continue to work with the local authority to further support teaching and learning in our schools.
