Current consultations

  • The DfE is seeking views on its 'Schools that work for everyone' consultation which sets out new proposals for independent school and HEI sponsorship of mainstream schools, as well as new admissions plans for faith schools and expanding the number of grammar schools. The consultation closes on 12 December 2016.

NASBM consultation responses

Take a look from the links below at the recent responses NASBM has provided to key education consultations

Fairer funding

  • NAHT and NASBM provided a joint response to the DfE's National Funding Formula consultation (link opens the NAHT and NASBM joint response).

NASBM actively facilitated sector input via a survey of our members during February 2016. The survey received over 150 responses from practitioners working across the breadth of school types and phases. When the consultation outcome report is available from the DfE we will link to that report from here.

The House of Commons briefing paper 'School funding in England: Current system and proposals for fairer school funding' published in August 2016 includes NASBM commentary on the NFF proposals.

Trailblazer Standards Consultation – School Business Director

At NASBM, we work hard to ensure that a wide range of high-quality, relevant and affordable professional development opportunities are available.

We are conducting an online survey to ask your views about a new training programme that we are developing in association with a large group of employers. From 2017, we are proposing to offer a Level 6 School Business Director apprenticeship, which will be available to new and existing school business professionals.

We are especially interested in your views about whether this would be attractive as a degree apprenticeship. Making this degree level could mean up to 3 years of studying, with prior attainment being taken into account to reduce the time, if applicable.
