FASNA – Freedom and Autonomy for Schools, National Association

 

FASNA is the national forum for Primary, Secondary, Special School schools seeking and using greater autonomy in order to raise standards. Member schools are from all phases and models; from academy and maintained schools. Membership provides benefits for all school leaders; Head teachers, Business Managers, Governors, Clerks and Company Secretaries.

Children's Food Trust

The national charity protecting children’s right to eat better and, so, to do better. Provides specialist support with improving school catering services, school food procurement and contracts, kitchen and dining room issues and running practical cooking activities with children.

NAHT

NAHT has represented school business managers since 2007 offering union and professional support and guidance. This includes:

  • individual representation on conditions of employment;  
  • expert advice and information on health and safety, staffing, pay, budgeting, dealing with local authorities and guidance in matters relating to the relationship between the head teacher/principal and the governing body;
  • publications and guidance providing practical help;
  • relevant continuing professional development opportunities.

A committee of business managers represent the views of our membership, pushing forward key issues about pay frameworks, school forums, a national funding formula for school funding and support for schools in the management of asbestos. SGOSS – Governors for Schools

Acas

Acas provides free advice and guidance on employment law and employment relations issues, including: Contracts of employment, recruitment processes, discipline and grievance, stress and absence management, maternity and paternity leave, equality and diversity legislation and workplace bullying. Acas also provides helpful example forms and checklists and a free confidential helpline for discussing specific cases and issues you may want advice on.
