Overview

The event will provide the opportunity for senior leaders to meet and explore the opportunities that exist for maintained schools (regardless of Ofsted status), current single converter and new expanding MATs. It will outline how the landscaped has changed since the general election and what school leaders need to be considering as part of their strategic plan for the school/trust. The Regional Schools Commissioner for the South West, Sir David Carter has confirmed his attendance .Also present will be a representative from the EFA.In addition the event is supported by Veale Wasbrough Vizards, PSFinancials and SAS.


This workshop runs from 9.00am to 3.30pm.

Target Audience

School business managers, headteachers, governors - anyone with an interest in looking at at the academisation options open to them.

Objectives

At the end of the workshop delegates will understand:
• the benefits of joining collaborative structures and the options that exist post the general election and how these vary by type of school and Ofsted rating.
• the role of the Regional Commissioners in determining the future of individual schools
• the required steps to become an academy, whether joining or creating a MAT, including the financial requirements and returns required
• the options that exist for your school and understand the required next steps and activities
